Genre: Drama, Romance
Release Date: 17 April 2020
Director: Drake Doremus
Writers: Jardine Libaire, Drake Doremus
Stars: Shailene Woodley, Jamie Dornan, Sebastian Stan

Plot Summary: Reeling from a bad recent break-up, Daphne (Shailene Woodley) finds herself adrift in life. Living in her sister's guesthouse, she regularly witnesses her sibling and her brother-in-law fighting, which only exacerbates the once-idealistic Daphne's growing despair regarding long-term love. Then, at one of her sister's parties, Daphne meets Frank (Sebastian Stan) and Jack (Jamie Dornan). Both are enormously attractive to her, albeit in very different ways: one is the free-spirited bad boy, unpredictable, and always ready for adventure; the other is sober, intelligent, sensitive, and invested in his career as an academic. Unable to choose between these almost polar opposites, Daphne finds herself bouncing between them instead, enjoying the distinct ways each man sees her -- it's as though she's auditioning different versions of herself and the life that might be waiting for her. But fate has a way of making decisions for us, and the time soon comes when Daphne is forced to accept that.

REVIEW:
The director Drake Doremus and crew brought a tormenting story about love. There are different kinds of love in a relationship, the main one true love and the companion love in which is not really true love because it is mostly a one-sided love or an understanding for one not to be alone. Any type of love will not matter if you don't love yourself above everyone else. The story unfolds in a woman loving two people at the same time but is it really love or is it filling up the shallowness after a breakup. It projects two different sides of love more like two sides of a coin pointing out the love of being drawn to a bad boy and the love for the stable one. How the desire to feel got her entangled in a love triangle to avoid feeling adrift while struggling with life choices. This story is rough towards the importance of taking a breather and loving oneself to get life back on track. I love the way the scenes were edited, a brilliant way to show her emotions. I also loved the way they showed the texts on screen and beautiful font I might add it goes well with the film.

Philip Ekstrom's music added to the emotion of the character being broken. Also, the choices of songs in this movie were breathtaking, so many amazing bands gave the film an edgy vibe.

The cast was perfect, Shailene Woodley, Jaime Dornan, and Sebastian Stan performances were to die for. Mainly, Shailene Woodley, she deserves an award what an emotional, reflective performance. She absorbed me with all her expression it was so easy for one to know what she was feeling at the moment, she is a very talented female actor.

Final Score: [8/10]
