The complete filming schedule for the fourth Fear Street film has been officially revealed along with its director. Fear Street 4, which will be based on Prom Queen, was confirmed by author R.L. Stine on X.

‘Fear Street: Prom Queen’ will begin filming on March 25, 2024, in Toronto, Canada, and will take around 45 days to complete the filming by May 10, 2024. Matt Palmer has been attached to direct the next film in this horror franchise. Palmer is known for directing the Netflix thriller film, Calibre which stars Jack Lowden. His directing credit also includes several short films like The Gas Man, Driven, Island, and more.

After the hit Fear Street trilogy, there were already murmurs about a fourth film in the franchise, which was officially confirmed by Scott Stuber, the head of Netflix film, last November. The fourth film which has been titled, ‘Fear Street: Prom Queen,’ is based on R.L Stine's 15th book in the original Fear Street series. Andrew Dansker is the executive producer.

The official synopsis of the Prom Queen says, A spring night...soft moonlight...five beautiful Prom Queen candidates...dancing couples at the Shadyside High prom -- these should be the ingredients for romance. But stir in one brutal murder -- then another, and another -- and the recipe quickly turns to horror. Lizzie McVay realizes that someone is killing the five Prom Queen contenders one by one, and she may be next on the list! Can she stop the murderer before the dance is over—for good?

Netflix released the the first three films a week apart in 2021 calling it the Fear Street Trilogy. Fear Street Part One: 1994 released on July 2, 2021, Fear Street Part Two: 1978 on July 9, 2021, and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 on July 16, 2021. The films became critically acclaimed and were also loved by the Netflix audience and horror fans.

The trilogy was directed by Leigh Janiak, who expressed her interest in the fourth film soon after the success of the first three films. The first three films produced by Chernin Entertainment were set to be distributed by 20th Century Studios, but the pandemic forced a change of plans and later, they were acquired by Netflix and were released as Netflix original films on the streamer. Fear Street 4 will be again produced for exclusive distribution on Netflix.

The Fear Street is an American horror film series, with varying subgenres of horror, particularly the slasher and supernatural subgenres.
