Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy Officially Confirmed for ‘The Boys’ Season 5

The final episode of the fourth season of The Boys took us on a wild ride with its humor and shock teasing what should we expect from the final season. The ending perhaps gave the fans what they wanted the most for a long time. Before the credits roll, Homelander finds out about the frozen Soldier Boy and it seems he is about to wake him up.

Before the Season 4 finale, Soldier Boy was seen in a dream sequence in Gen V Season 1, where he was wearing the same suit and holding the same shield as we saw in the third season. However, his return was already teased by showrunner Eric Kripke just after the conclusion of the third season. Kripke confirmed that the third season is not the end of Soldier Boy. However, he didn't specify when he would return. But after watching the shows released after season 3, Soldier Boy is pretty much in everything, doesn't matter if it's just for a few seconds or minutes.

Played by Jensen Ackles, Soldier Boy was known for his Nuclear-level energy blast and became very popular in the third season, where he was the lead antagonist alongside Homelander. At the start after waking up from the frozen state after decades, Soldier Boy teamed with the Boys to destroy and kill Homelander, but when that plan didn't work out, he went solo and decided to take on everyone including the Boys and Homelander. Soldier Boy is revealed to be the father of Homelander, but in the third season's finale, he calls Homelander - a disappointment. This led to a big fight between Soldier Boy and Homelander, but ultimately it was Butcher who fought him one-on-one with other members of the Boys joining him later. In the end, Maeve took him out through the window to avoid the impact of the major energy blast by Soldier Boy.

Soldier Boy is likely to have regular appearances in the fifth season which also means Homelander is likely to fight side by side with him. The finale has already teased the present situation of the US which is now under martial law and Vought registered Supes led by Homelander have taken control of the country. All the rebel supes have either been arrested or hiding to save their loved ones. Soldier Boy is very patriotic and Homelander would hope to grow stronger with his help.

Amazon has already confirmed that The Boys is ending with Season 5 and with so many characters expected to return including Soldier Boys, Love Sausage, Maeve, etc., it is surely going to be a banger. However, before we get to watch the final season, we will also get the second season of Gen V in between, which will also be influenced by this season's events as the characters from Gen V did appear in the finale to execute the Homelander's command.

In Season 4 of The Boys, The world is on the verge. Victoria Neuman is getting closer to the Oval Office and is under the strict supervision of Homelander, who is solidifying his position. Butcher, with just months to live, has lost both Becca's son and his position as The Boys' leader. The rest of the crew is fed up with his falsehoods. With more at stake than ever, the Boys and Butcher must find a way to work together and save the planet before it's too late.

Season 4 new additions include Valorie Curry as Firecracker, Susan Heyward as Sister Sage, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Joe Kessler, Derek Wilson as Tek Knight, Dan Mousseau as Webweaver, Rosemarie DeWitt, Rob Benedict, Omid Abtahi, and Elliot Knight.
