Though the exit of Henry Cavill from The Witcher was controversial as the fans didn't like the decision at all, the first look leaked images of Cavill's replacement Liam Hemsworth are not disappointing as he seems to be a perfect fit in taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.

The decision to replace Cavill with Liam was taken up and announced even before the third season was released. When Netflix released The Witcher Season 3, the audience was already aware that this was the last time they would see Cavill in his favorite Witcher universe. Liam Hemsworth, the youngest of the Hemsworth brothers, who is replacing Cavill in Season 4, does understand the expectations of the audience and knows that he has big boots to fill. Liam is currently filming Season 4.

The decision of Geralt's recast didn't go well with the fans as they started multiple online petitions to bring Back Henry Cavill as the Witcher. Some fans also expressed their anger by stating that they wouldn't be watching the show if Cavill was not part of it. I don't think all those people still have the same thoughts after these images have surfaced. I went online to find the reaction to the newly leaked images and the majority seems to be looking forward to seeing Liam as Geralt.

Although, you cannot satisfy each audience, mainly the hardcore fans of Cavill. They are still not convinced and have dubbed Liam's role as Gerald of River.

Below are the leaked images:

In a few of the above-leaked images, Geralt is fighting against Vilgefortz, one of the most surprising parts of the previous season, when he was revealed to be the traitor.

In the final episode of the third season, in quest of Ciri, Yennefer and her other sorceresses invade Vilgefortz's castle of Vuilpanne, but find it empty save for the remains of abducted Aretuzan students. In Redania, King Vizimir instructs Dijkstra to assassinate Philippa as a scapegoat for the failed coup. Philippa, forewarned, orchestrates Vizimir's assassination and crowns Radovid as the new king. Yennefer travels to Brokilon and recovers Geralt, who embarks on a mission to save Ciri from Emhyr with Jaskier and Milva, a Brokilonian archer. Fringilla and Francesca come into Nilfgaard to plan against Emhyr, but when Fringilla accidentally discloses the truth about Nilfgaard's involvement in the murder of her baby, Francesca flees, pledging vengeance. Yennefer holds a meeting of the remaining magicians at Aretuza and declares that they must stop Vilgefortz. Later, Emhyr invites Ciri to the Nilfgaardian court, but, unbeknownst to him, she is Teryn posed as Ciri. To save one of their own, a bandit gang known as the Rats kill Ciri's captors and then pushes her to attack her abductor, which Ciri does, becoming her first human kill. When the Rats welcome her, Ciri introduces herself as "Falka".

Alongside Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia, ‘The Witcher’ Season 4 will also see the return of Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri, Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Eamon Farren as Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach, Graham McTavish as Sigismund Dijkstra, Cassie Clare as Philippa Eilhart, Bart Edwards as Duny, and Mecia Simson as Francesca Findabair, among others. The Witcher has already been renewed for the fifth and final season by Netflix.

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is the creator and showrunner of The Witcher, which is based on the bestselling book series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.
