Gerard Butler's apocalyptic-thriller film ‘Greenland’ is officially coming to Indian theaters this December. STX Entertainment has set up the film to release on December 4, 2020, in metro cities across the country. The 2D film will be available to watch only in English.

Earlier, it was announced that “Greenland” will premiere directly on premium video-on-demand platforms starting December 18 in the US for a price of $19.99 to rent for a 48-hour period.
The film was supposed to hit the US theaters on 14th August but was delayed as theaters were closed due to the COVID pandemic. The film will be made available to watch on HBO and HBO Max in 2021.

The film opened in many theaters in August and September across European and Middle East countries and collected around $38 million at the box-office.

‘Greenland’ is about a family, who fights for survival as a planet-killing comet race towards Earth. John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and young son Nathan make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being leveled by the comet’s fragments, the Garrity’s experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Chris Sparling, the film stars Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Scott Glenn, and Roger Dale Floyd in the leading roles.

Earlier this month, The New Mutants opened in Indian theaters but failed to attract the audience's attention. As per our report, Tenet is also hitting the Indian theaters on December 4, but Warner Bros. is yet to make any official announcement regarding the release date.

However, it will be interesting to see how a disaster, apocalypse related film is performing in India during a pandemic.
